The Boat Transfer training is intended for personnel working in the wind industry, involved in the construction, maintenance and/or service for offshore wind turbines and wind farms. During this training, the student learns to make a safe transfer from a ship to a windmill and vice versa.
The Boat Transfer training is part of the GWO Sea Survival. This means that you will not receive a GWO certificate for this. If you need a GWO certificate, you must follow the full GWO Sea Survival training.
The content of the training contains the following components:
- advantages and limitations of the various LSA, PPE, and PFPE used in the offshore wind industry;
- transfer to and from the board in a safe manner;
- procedures in a man-on-board situation (SAR, GMDSS Recovery and First Aid);
- evacuation procedures for wind turbines.
The start time for this training depends on the booked date.
The training is given in English as a standard. On request, the training for groups can be organized in a different language. It is possible to hire an interpreter via STC-KNRM.
To participate in this training you need a medical examination. It is also possible to hand over a statement from a doctor showing that you are physically able to participate in the training. STC-KNRM can arrange this inspection for you.
