NOGEPA 2.7AC – Coxswain Conventional Lifeboat and Capsules
The Coxswain Lifeboat Training is intended for those who are designated as Coxswain of a lifeboat. The 2.7a C Conventional Lifeboat and Capsules is intended for the regular (not free-fall) lifeboat.
The aim is to train the captains in preparation, the actual launch and the way in which the lifeboat is used in an offshore mining installation.

The following topics are covered in this training:
- Ensure that the lifeboat is always operational;
- Taking care of / participating in exercises with the lifeboat;
- Respond to calamities and alarms;
- Prepare for launch;
- Passengers on board;
- Launch of the lifeboat;
- Navigate, control;
- Communication;
- Ensure the safety of the passengers.
NB The content of the course is the same for both the Conventional Lifeboat and the Free Fall Lifeboat. Those who follow the combi training receive instruction on both types of lifeboats.
Class times:
Participants are expected to register at 7.45 am. The training day will start at 8:30 AM and end around 4:00 PM. The other training days will start at 8:30 AM.
Language:
The training is given in English. On request, the training for groups can be organized in a different language. It is also possible to hire an interpreter via STC-KNRM.
Admission Requirements:
To participate in this training you will need a medical examination performed by a NOGEPA certified doctor. STC-KNRM can arrange this inspection for you. It is also possible to hand over a statement from a doctor showing that you are physically able to participate in the training.
